Chidori Labs

One studio, a thousand birds to go.

This cloth has exactly 1,000 teeth. 9 are missing, one for each app released so far.

chidori

千鳥

Japanese noun. Literally, a thousand birds.

  1. A plover: the small shorebirds that run the tide line in flocks, and a classic motif of Japanese cloth, often shown flying over waves.
  2. 千鳥格子 chidori-gōshi: the houndstooth check, named for the birds its teeth resemble.
  3. 千鳥足 chidori-ashi: a zigzag, unsteady walk, like a plover crossing the sand.

How we work

Ship, then listen

Every app in the field log is on sale. Versions follow what people do with them: Moodly was rebuilt from scratch for 2.0, and Antes learned to let couples pray together.

Spanish first where it matters

Six of our 9 apps were written in Spanish first, for Latin America. Mercalist knows pesos and pounds; La Garita is set in a Bogotá where it never stops raining.

On the phone when we can

Antes checks prayers, Ascend counts reps and Better learns your taste on the device itself. What can stay on your phone, stays there.

Pay once when it fits

The games unlock with a single purchase and carry no ads. Apps that cost us something to run every day use a subscription, and say so up front.

Who

Chidori Labs was founded by Juan Rueda. It is small on purpose: one founder, good tools, and a long list of birds. If you want to build one together, write to hola@chidorilabs.app.
